- We are in Mid-Summer, the Sun is in Cancer the Crab for a few more days marking a time to celebrate family, home and kinship.Water and Sun unite offering us an opportunity to frolic with one another no matter what species we are. Let’s celebrate our diversity, and commune with life giving waters, like these Coyotes in Coyoacan (The Place of the Coyotes) Mexico. After returning from a week in Mexico City I so appreciate turning on a faucet to get a drink of water, because there, each mouth full was hard to come by, hauled in from the blocks away or I had to turn it down because I didn’t know where it came from. This may be a simple message but we are going through huge evolutionary changes as humans, so paying attention to messages from the elements can give us guidelines about our soul’s purpose.
- Here from Mexico’s Museum of Anthropology is a Fountain of Elements, sculpture with symbols form the elements related to the four directions. This single post is holding up a massive roof. So it seems, this is our place in nature: beneath a protective sky held up by the elements: Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Very little is written about it, I believe, so it can just be experienced. Ask yourself: What holds up the roof of your world? Which Element is most important? Which is the most neglected
Another symbolic look at this month:
“July 13 begins the Mayan 4th night, which continues until July 30. In Mayan cosmology, nights represent the integration and application of what was acquired during the previous day (June 25 to July 12); they also symbolize accelerated periods of releasing whatever is not in alignment with our soul purpose and evolution. P.S. August 2 the day the US must decide about it’s debt limit, it is also, Lamas, first harvest. Sounds like a great day to celebrate our wealth. Don’t let fear be your harvest.
